My name is Dmitry Ostrovsky, and I am a PhD student at Université Grenoble Alpes (France) under the supervision of Pr. Anatoli Juditsky. I got MSc in 2014 from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), Russia, at Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department.
If you are French, you are also free to call me Dimitri as most of my colleagues do (I also speak French).
My scientific interests pass through Nonparametric Statistics, Statistical learning, and statistical applications of Convex Optimization.
The main purpose of this blog is to be an ‘external hard drive’ for the mathematical part of my brain. The idea is to collect here important things which I need often, but not often enough to memorize. It is much more convenient to write them down once than to derive from scratch (or struggle through books/papers written by others) over and over again.I also use it to write down toy mathematical problems which I sometimes make up.
Time will tell if this blog will eventually become an actual research blog.
